
Adult Class
Adult Class is lead by Father Paul Dicks and takes place on Sunday mornings from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. Class topics are chosen by the class participants. Recent topics have included CS Lewis' Mere Christianity and Anglican Catholic Faith and Practice by Archbishop Mark Haverland. Presently the group is studying the biblical book of Deuteronomy, and how its contents are relevant to one's life.
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross are an act of worship that take place during the season of Lent. Stations are focused on the final events of Jesus' life leading to His resurrection. There are 14 stations of with representations of these important events. Devotions are said at the beginning and end of the Stations and at each station. Worshipers may remain in their pew or follow the procession from station to station. See the calendar to see when Stations of the Cross are scheduled.
Birthday Bags
St. John's Parish participates in providing local residents of senior communities with special "birthday bags" on their birthday. The birthday bag items are donated by parish members and consist of everyday items that are useful to seniors, or that can be enjoyed.
Crisis Pregnancy Center
St. John's provides financial support to the Milwaukee area Crisis Pregancy Center as a means of helping women who are facing a crisis pregancy.
Food Pantry Collection
St. John's Parish participates in the collection of food items which are donated to the local food pantry.
Lessons and Carols
The service of Lessons and Carols takes place in advent, and consists of a series of bible readings followed by special selections of appropriate advent hymns. This service is a special way to enrich one's experience of advent and to prepare for Christmas.
